Welcome to Buena Vista Elementary School, home of the Bobcats, where students are respectful, responsible, and ready to learn! Our school is located on the eastside of Greenville, SC, an area known for its cultural diversity and support of the fine arts and history. Buena Vista is one of forty-nine elementary schools within the nationally accredited Greenville County School District. It was built in 1984 and consists of fifty classrooms housing approximately 850 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Buena Vista has an award winning reputation having been recognized as National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, Palmetto’s Finest, Palmetto Gold Award, National PTA School of Excellence, and SC Red Carpet School.

Buena Vista is extremely fortunate to have an active and involved PTA. For the past 28 years, we have had 100% membership. Every year, volunteers log thousands of hours of service to the school. One of our members was the recipient of the District 1 PTA Volunteer of the Year Award for the implementation of our Backpack Buddies program. We also had a parent volunteer to be the recipient of the 2010-2011 SC PTA Outstanding Volunteer of the Year for her work in our international community.  The PTA hosts the Bobcat Bash (our fall carnival), Kids Helping Kids (a holiday gift program), BINGO night, area restaurant Spirit Nights, Backpack Buddies (a community food outreach), Brainbuilders (in-house tutoring program),  just to name a few.
