Buena Vista is a caring family-centered student body, where we believe in taking care of one another. Through our Backpack Buddies program, which is supported by generous financial support and food donations from our parents, teachers, local business, scouting organizations and churches, we have been able to provide weekly food care packages for our families in need.
You will see information on how you can participate and volunteer with Backpack Buddies posted around school, articles in the Bobcat Banner newsletter, correspondence in your child’s communication folder, and here on our website.
We collect a variety of kid-friendly, healthy, individually packaged breakfast and lunch items throughout the school year. Some suggestions are:
- 100% Fruit Juice Boxes
- Non Refrigerated Milk Boxes
- Single Serve Cereal
- Pop Tarts
- Peanut Butter and Cracker/Cheese and Cracker Packs
- Nutri Grain/Granola Bars
- Pop Top Soups
- Pop Top Ravioli/Spaghettios
- Mac & Cheese
- Fruit Cups/Applesauce Cups
- Dried Fruits/Nuts/Trail Mix
We will hold three big food drives during the school year. Watch for those dates and more information during the year.
