Get Involved!

Buena Vista relies on the generous support of our parents, and there are many opportunities for you to get involved that will fit into any schedule!  Simply being a member for $5 is a great start toward helping Buena Vista! You can also browse through our different volunteer opportunities described below and CONTACT US with any questions.  Or check out our Immediate Needs for sign-up links to help right now!  Keep in mind that ALL volunteers MUST submit an application for either a Level I or Level II volunteer clearance before being allowed to volunteer in any school in the county.  See the Approval Process below to learn more.

Assist with the weekly packing of food items for students-in-need to take home. Click HERE to learn more.

Bobcat Fun Run

Help promote and assist with necessary preparations for the Fun Run.  Click HERE for more information.

bingo

Help obtain donations and assist with Bingo night from set-up to clean-up.  Click HERE for more information on this Spring event.

Book Fair 

Collect money and help students choose and purchase books during the Book Fair week (shifts are every 2 hours). Occurs in September and February.

Brain Builders

Tutor students on a flexible schedule using teacher-supplied materials during school hours. Click HERE for more information.

Carnival - Bobcat Bash

Assist with any of the several committees necessary to plan a successful Bobcat Bash in March and April. Click HERE for more information.

Kids Helping Kids

Help collect student donations during school hours in November, and shop for holiday items to give to students in need in December.  Click HERE for more information.

HOLIDAY SHOP

Assist in coordination and sales at The Giving Market, our holiday shop, to spread holiday cheer and provide meaningful gifts for our students.

Media Center

Assist Media Center staff with the re-shelving of returned books.

Reflections Art Contest 

Help promote and organize this National PTA contest at the school level. This takes place in September and October.  Click HERE for more information.

School Store

Help sell school supplies and various Bobcat-themed merchandise before school, from 7:25-8:00am.  This is ongoing and as often as you are available.  Click HERE for more information.

Assist with donations, set-up and serving during staff lunch breaks throughout the year, and also assist with Staff Appreciation Week in Spring.
